ABOUT
EYBG
East Yorkshire Bat Group (EYBG) is a voluntary organisation set up in 1990, one of around 90 similar county-based bat conservation groups in the UK. EYBG is a partner group within the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) and works in partnership with Natural England.
Mission and History
East Yorkshire Bat Group was one of the first bat groups to be set up in 1990.
Our group is driven by our vision to have a county rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together. We are continually seeking to discover more about how our bats use the landscape so we can protect them long term and take practical conservation action where we can. We help to secure our bat populations by inspiring, engaging and teaching people about bats. We provide training to our members on how to identify different bat species, how to undertake various types of surveys and how to care for injured bats.
We want to give everyone, everywhere the chance to be inspired by bats and engage in bat conservation. Bats are enchanting and unique mammals that can be enjoyed on everyone's doorstep.
Our Geographic Range
Although the majority of our events are hosted in the region of East Yorkshire, occasionally they may extend outside this area. We are also friends with North Yorkshire Bat Group and invite their members to attend our events as we are also invited to theirs. These are shared on our events page along side our own.
Please see the map below showing the geographic region that we cover.
